Our Delightful Donkey Herd

We have 12 delightful donkeys at the farm; all are females (jennies) and range in age from XX to XX. We even have XX mini donkeys, although someone has clearly forgotten to tell them they are ‘minis’ as their personalities are just as big as their buddies.

Everyone they meet falls in love with their long, velvety ears and kind eyes, which work to their advantage, as they all love a good scratch and are not shy about telling you where to rub them!

Donkeys are very vocal animals, and we’re sure you’ll hear them telling each other what they think and where they are. Their brays can be heard from one end of the farm to the other.

Our Lovable Llama Pack

Llamas were some of the first animals to join Animal Antiks and have been a firm favourite with staff, students and visitors ever since.

Our XX lovable rogues are aged XX to XX and are split into male and female herds. When the weather allows, they love a good graze in the fields, with even some participating in our wellbeing walks around the farm or joining us at events.

Llamas have the most amazing thick coats; after all, they originated in the Andes Mountains, so when summer comes around, many of them are sheared to help them stay cool.

We often use their fleece to make wool pads for ground protection in the garden, or for fun crafts and activities for our students.

Our Perky, People-loving Pigs

There are over XX pigs living at the farm, and we love supporting rare breeds, so we have XX breeds, including saddlebacks, Gloucester Old Spot, and XX.

Many of the pigs you will see on your visits were born here; the latest litter was saddlebacks, which were born in 2025.

Our pigs have a variety of housing, from cosy stys in the barns to fabulous scrubby areas to root around and explore around the farm. Everyone knows pigs love a wallow, and we try to ensure they have access to plenty of muddy areas in the summer.

They also enjoy a good scratch behind their ears and snuffling through the straw or plants in the fields for treats. It’s all good enrichment for these popular members of the Antiks family.

Our Glorious Goat Herd

Goats have always been part of the Antiks family. Their joyful view of life seems to endear them to anyone who meets them, and the few who take a slightly grumpier approach are more lovable because of their almost human personalities!

On the farm, we have XXX goats, including pygmy goats and XXX breed. We only have a small herd these days, but we will happily admit baby goats are kind of cute, so you never know.

Like all of our animals, our goats spend the winter months in the barns, but they get to enjoy the great outdoors when the weather warms up and love nothing more than a munch of grass and a sunbathe.

We often use goats for our wellbeing walks, and if you spot them around the farm, you will hear their bleats and trit-trotting of their little feet.

Our Super, Snuggly Sheep

Our flock of 150 sheep includes XX breeds from Herdwicks to XX, and our beautiful Black Nose Valais.

Our lamb tally for 2026 was XX lambs from XX ewes. These not-so-small-anymore babies are starting to explore the fields and enjoy the sunshine on their backs.

Our aim with the more reliable characters is to enter local livestock shows with them. An extra opportunity for some of our students, and a great way to promote our interest in specialist breeds.

Several of our sheep are on our wall of fame, not only because our followers helped name a pair of lambs in 2025, but also because of their personalities. It’s this latter group that you may come across if you join one of our wellbeing walks, as they do love a good walk around the farm, especially if they get regular head rubs!

Our Happy Horse & Pony Herds

There are XX shetlands or minatures, XX ponies and XX horses in our happy herds here at the farm.

We tend to keep the bigger horses and ponies separate from the shetlands and minis, as the smaller guys tend to have very cheeky natures and can get quite annoying with their constant zoomies or nibbling of knees as they try to engage their bigger friends in grooming sessions.

Some of the larger ponies and horses have been used for ridden activities in the past, but are now rather enjoying their time as lawn mowers and therapy animals!

Let us know who you’ve fallen in love with after your visits – will the minis make a big impression or will it be the big ol’ boys that leave a little piece of themselves with you?

Our Amazing Alpaca Pack

We have XX alpacas at the farm, and mating happens in XXX, with a view to any babies (cria) arriving in the summer.

These quiet, calm animals have the best way to communicate with each other – they hum softly. It’s a very soothing sound, often the soundtrack to our wellbeing walks and leaves you feeling really relaxed.

Alpacas, like their llama friends, originate from South America and have very thick woolly coats to cope with the cold, dry temperatures of their native Andes Mountain home.

In the summer, we shear our herds to keep them comfortable, though some are not as keen on the shearing itself as others. You might notice that some still have furry legs because no one wants a ticklish alpaca kicking them!
