Our aims at Animal Antiks are to open hearts, unlock minds and inspire people

We achieve this by operating an alternative provision based on a 230 acre working farm in North Marston, deep in the beautiful, Buckinghamshire countryside.

We welcome and support children and adults who are experiencing various challenges in their lives.  This can include physical and mental health difficulties, difficulties accessing mainstream education or being at risk of school exclusion or those facing social isolation and exclusion

Our approach is to create a diverse group of people with various needs, to work together in this safe and calm environment.  They get involved with a variety of activities around animal care, animal enrichment, gardening, craft, bushcraft and other outdoor and nature projects.  We find that working on the farm, carrying out these types of activities help to reduce anxieties, increase confidence and builds on life and social skills and knowledge whilst being outside and close to nature

- - - WORK EXPERIENCE - - -

Using the farm environment as our backdrop we aim to build confidence, knowledge and self esteem, whilst developing key social, life and work skills.

This will involve working in a small group.

During these sessions we help to develop employment skills, encourage independent working, encourage to stay focused on task to task completion, problem solving.

- FARM THERAPY -

It may be that a school or college is looking for an opportunity to provide a student with some additional support or perhaps an individual looking for an alternative day care opportunity.

It will involve participating in a variety of activities on the farm in a small group.

They will get involved with a number of different tasks around the farm, such as grooming the ponies, walking the goats or the alpacas, looking after the smaller animals, participating in nature projects and walks.  They will have plenty of opportunities to develop a variety of practical and social skills and if appropriate, work towards increased independence and possibly employment or volunteering opportunities.

--- POST 16 TRAINING ON-SITE ---

--- WALK & TALK ---

Promoting mental health wellbeing, gentle exercise and social interaction.  This will be a gentle walk around the fields surrounding the farm, with a group of the animals.  Then back to our community library for a chat and a cuppa and an opportunity to look through the books.
